ABOUT RAMPART PAL
“Rampart Police Activities League, Inc” (RPAL, Inc) is a local LAPD-Rampart chapter of the California Police Activities League. RPAL, Inc is a 501c3 charity organization that promotes a greater understanding and trust between the youth of our community and the police officers who serve them. Through educational, athletic, and recreational activities, RPAL, Inc addresses the neighborhood youths’ proclivity to gang involvement and juvenile crime by creating effective intervention programs. We offer opportunities and hope to youth in the midst of poverty, despair and violence that might otherwise travel a different, less fortunate road were it not for our programs.
Rampart’s 330 police personnel provide service to about 164,961 inhabitants in a compact 5.54 square mile area. With a population density similar to Manhattan Island, it is no secret that Rampart is one of the busiest police stations in the nation. The Rampart Community includes several well-known areas and landmarks such as Echo Park, MacArthur Park, and the Rampart Victorian Homes.
