Beginning Chess

Join Chess Master Thom Waymouth, (Coach Thom), to learn one of the most fascinating, fun and challenging games ever created; Chess. No experience necessary. Chess helps improve concentration, problem-solving, memory retention - and critical, original and creative thinking.

This class will address all different learning speeds. In addition to weekly lessons and playing with the other members of our chess club, kids will be able to do additional lessons during their own free time and track their progress. They will also be able to play other kids from around the world. Chess club members will receive a rating once they start playing and solving puzzles and they will be able to track themselves on the leaderboard.

Having a chess board at home is great for playing with your family, but, You do not need a chess board to participate in this class. Kids will need to have access to a computer or mobile device to participate (preferably Apple IOS).

The seven week program will end with a club-wide online chess tournament with prizes!
